Turtle Beach
This is a long beach with little or no shade. At one point the hotel takes over a whole section. The beach has a serious drop into the sea, which gets deep very quickly, so not a particularly good swimming beach. The pool at the Turtle beach hotel is great for small children as the whole pool is shallow. This can be accessed from the beach and if you buy a drink from the bar they are happy for you to use the pool. The recliners are free and can be moved out to the beach area.
Turtles come to lay their eggs on the beach between March and September so you might spot an endangered leatherback turtle laying it's eggs in the sand. There's a big fishing facility right next to the hotel where the seine nets are pulled in, so good for buying fish.
This beach is only a 10-minute drive to from Mary's Hill Lodge.
